JOHN O'NEILL

 

John O'Neill

Veteran midfielder John O'Neill started his career off at Queens Park in the early 90's were he played just over 90 times and scoring 30 times before a dream move to Celtic. He stayed with the Bhoys for two season's but found places in the team limited before moving to England with Bournemouth for four years and racking up over 125 appearances for them. He then moved back to Scotland with Ross County for two months before starting his first spell at QOS in January 2001. He stayed their for two and a half season's, scoring nearly forty times in 80 appearances and picking up a Challenge Cup medal on the way. He then had a two year spell with St Mirren before returning to Qos to play a further 85 times and collecting a Scottish Cup final medal last season. John was linked with Ayr in pre-season, but he opted for the Binos after being offered a player/assistant manager's position at the club. John made his debut in the 3-0 away defeat by Dunfermline in the Challenge cup on the opening day of the season. John scored his first goal for the Binos in the 1v1 home game against East Fife at the start of August.
