Scott McLean Interview

SCOTT MCLEAN

Stirlingalbion.com spoke to Scott “Trigger” McLean tonight about his departure
from The Bino’s and it’s clear that he is disappointed to be leaving us but in
the same vein he is looking to move ahead at a time of his career when he is at
his peak.

“Stranraer FC approached me a few weeks ago out of the blue ands asked me if I
was interested in moving to Stranraer. With my contract situation and
everything else it was a difficult situation to make but I have done it for the
right reasons. I’m 28 now and have tasted experience at the top level and I
still have ambitions, and the Stranraer move gives me a chance to get back into
Division One and remind a few people that I’m still about. The main aim is to
hopefully keep Stranraer up and help keep the momentum there going forward, they
have potential there next season to turn a few heads. I’m not saying that I
couldn’t have done that with the Bino’s next year but at my age I need to move
up a level.”

“I cannot say a bad thing at all about Stirling Albion, I loved the club, the
town and especially the fans they are fantastic.”

“I was at the supporters evening last week and I was speaking to many of the
fans down there, the way things were it was difficult for me to let on about any
possible move because of contract issues and everything else. I want to thank
all the lads who I spoke to last week and to thank the Bino fans for their
support over the last couple of seasons, I’ve heard that on stirlingalbion.com
that a good few people have wished me all the best and I would like to echo that
by wishing Stirling Albion all the best for the new season, there are a good
bunch of lads at Forthbank and a good manager, I’m good mates with Allan Moore
and he will have the team really up for the new season. Thanks again.”
