Clyde 3v0 Stirling |
26/04/08 |
Stirling put in one of their worst performances of the season as they went down by three goals to nil against a Clyde team that was hoping to stay away from the play off spot. Stirling lined up with Scott Christie in goals; a back four of Paul Nugent, Laurie Ellis, Andy Graham and Stewart Devine; Ross Harris, Steven Bell (making his final appearance for the club before going to Dunfermline), Chris Aitken and Nathan Taggart whilst up front were David McKenna and Jay Rodrigeuz. On the bench were Myles Hogarth, Paul Murphy, Paul Hay, John Paul McBride and Colin Cramb. Match report below. |

Stirling 3v1 St Johnstone |
23/04/08 |
Stirling went into this game having only won three games all season, but the Binos finished their last home game off in style after beating St Johnstone by three goals to one. The Binos lined up with Scott Christie in goals; a back four of Paul Nugent, Laurie Ellis, Andy Graham and Stewart Devine; in midfield were Ross Harris (back from injury), Steven Bell, Chris Aitken and Nathan Taggart whilst up front were David McKenna and Jay Rodrigeuz. On the bench were Myles Hogarth, Paul Murphy, Paul Hay, Gary Muir and Colin Cramb. In front of the smallest home crowd of the season, the Binos found themselves 1-0 behind, but two quick penalties by the Binos top scorer Chris Aitken (15 goals for the season) saw them 2-1 ahead of ten man St Johnstone at half time. The final goal finally came half way through the second half when on loan striker Jay Rodrigeuz tucked the ball away. Stirling now go into their last game of the season this Saturday with Clyde hoping to get the points to avoid the dreaded play off spot. Match report below. |

Dundee 3v0 Stirling |
12/04/08 |
With relegation being confirm on Tuesday night against Partick Thistle, today was merely a formality for the Binos, but it was a different story for Dundee who were looking at still closing the gap on Hamilton in the race for the12/0408 title. The Binos lined up with Scott Christie in goals; Paul Nugent, Laurie Ellis, Andy Graham and Stewart Devine at the back; in midfield was a first team start for Gavin Muir on the left wing with Chris Aitken, Steven Bell and Paul Murphy in the middle and Nathan Taggart on the right wing with Jay Rodrigeuz up front on his own. On the bench was Myles Hogarth, Paul Hay, Liam Corr, David McKenna and Derek Lilley. On the whole it was a fairly even first half, but Dundee raised their game for a 10 minute spell early in the second half to put two quick goals beyond Christie and almost seal the game. Stirling huff and puffed as usual, but the same old story of very little goal threat (despite another great performance from on loan striker Rodrigeuz) was Stirling's problem and there was no shots on target of note before Dundee scored a late third to kill the game. The highlight again for this week was young Liam Corr who came on and fitted in well on the right side of midfield. With only two games of the season to go, hopefully Alan Moore will use these games to bleed more under 19 player's for next season as well as use these games to see if any of the players are worth a contract for the second division campaign next season. Stirling 0v0 QOS |
05/04/08 |
The Binos played out this drab draw in front of the season's worst home support as this game had all the hallmarks of an end of season game. Both teams had effectively nothing to play for with QOS unable to go up or down now and the Binos almost consigned to the second division next season. Stirling lined up with Scott Christie in goals; a back four of Paul Nugent, Laurie Ellis, Andy Graham and Stewart Devine; in midfield were Stevie Bell, Chris Aitken, Paul Murphy and Nathan Taggart, whilst up front were Jay Rodrigeuz and David McKenna. On the bench were Myles Hogarth, Gary Muir, Paul Hay, Colin Cramb and Adam Lithgow. The Binos now take on Partick at Firhill on Tuesday night and a defeat will confirm our relegation back to the second division. Partick are due to play a more youthful team on Tuesday night due to their cup game at the weekend and the Thistle board have given everyone a boost with admission free to everyone who is under 16. Footy Fundraiser at Forthbank |
02/04/08 |
In May 2007, Stirlingalbion.com run a fundraising football match to bring in funds for a new pie oven for the club. I am glad to announce that this will be happening again on Saturday 3rd May, 3pm kick off to raise funds for the Stirling Albion supporters club. This season the supporters club has lost over £1500 to date running buses to games.
So just to confirm, here is what you will get on the day for your bid-
Players-
1. A small tour of the stadium.
2. Team talk (optional from the managers) and stripped in the proper home and away changing rooms.
3. Roughly 80 min's on the Forthbank pitch playing.
4. Game will have a ref and 2 linesman.
5.Playing in front of some the Stirling support- we are hoping for a good crowd.
6.Free 4 page programme with name and head shot in there of yourself.
7.Photos of the game on Redweb and possibly being sold for you to buy as a keepsake.
8. The game being possibly being filmed and the potential to buy this at a later date.
9.The chance to bid on your favourite shirt number after places have been confirmed (only top 22 players will have this chance- so make sure you bid higher to get a place in the top 22).
This game will be played as close to what it would be like to play for the Binos. Opening bids are being taken at £35, but the more you bid, the more chance you will have of playing on the day.
Managers/assistant Managers-
1.Chance to do a team talk in the changing room/half time.
2.The responsibility of changing players every x amount of minutes so that everyone gets an equal amount of time on the pitch. Not quite straight forward as you will need to do it, so that it doesn't hinder your team!

Bids are being taken for this as well.

Companies-
Hopefully we can a few companies to sponsor a team/ the game itself. To make this attractive as offer as possible we are making it a set price of only £20! The company name will be read over the tannoy and be put in the programme. If you know of any business's that would be interested in this, then get in contact with myself or post on the thread.

There is also the chance to bid to become a linesman for the day, get your favourite music or announcements over the tannoy, sponsor one of the four corner flags or the two dugouts, sponsor a team name or chose a team name.
