St Johnstone 2v1 Stirling
26/01/08
Another Saturday and another defeat, or so the theme of this season is going for the Binos. Stirling went into this game sporting another two signings in their line up, but it was to no avail as the Binos went down 2-1 to an in form Saints side at McDiarmid Park. Stirling lined up with Myles Hogarth goals; in the defence was new signing Brian Allison who was signed up on a month's loan from local rival's Falkirk in an attempt to shore up the Binos defence; he partnered Laurie Ellis in the middle of defence, with Paul Nugent and Ross Forsyth making up the back four. Alan Moore opted for five in midfield with Nicky Walker and Nathan Taggart on the wings and Chris Aitken, Erik Paartalu and John Paul McBride in the middle with David McKenna taking up the lone strikers position. On the bench was new signing Graeme Churchill who was signed on after being released by Falkirk, whilst under 19 keeper Daniel Cawley also made the bench after injury to Scott Christie kept him out of the side. Completing the bench was Ross Harris, Derek Lilley and Paul Hay. The Binos fell behind early on as St Johnstone dominated the first half. A goal by Chris Aitken saw the Binos up their game for 20 minutes in the second half, but poor defending let in the Saints sub for the match winner with 15 minutes to go. Stirling next take on Clyde at Broadwood in a re-arranged match and if the Binos are to have any chance of staying up this season, then they must take all three points from their nearest rivals. You will now find match reports for the Celtic and Livingston games on the website and the rest of the website is now up to date as well. Apologies again.

Celtic 3v0 Stirling
12/01/08
The Binos took a break from league business to take on Celtic at Parkhead in the Scottish Cup and do something that some of the best teams in the world have failed to do over the last few seasons, by pulling off a win at Parkhead. The Binos lined up with Scott Christie in goals; a back four of Stewart Devine (who returned from injury), Andy Graham, Laurie Ellis and Paul Nugent; a five man midfield of Ross Forsyth, Chris Aitken, John Paul McBride, Ross Harris and Paul Hay and with David McKenna up front on his own. On the bench was new signing Jay Rodriguez who had only just signed on loan from Burnley until the end of the season, Myles Hogarth, Nicky Walker, Derek Lilley and Nathan Taggart. Backed by over 1000 away fans, the Binos gave a good account of themselves against the SPL champions and although the game finished 3-0, the game was much closer. Match report below.

Hamilton 0v0 Stirling
05/01/08
The Binos went to New Douglas Park in the hope of breaking many football fans coupons and they did just that, despite only taking a point from the game. Stirling lined up for this game with Scott Christie in goals; Paul Nugent, Andy Graham, Laurie Ellis and Ross Forsyth at the back; Paul Hay on the left wing, new signing Erik Paartalu in the middle alongside Chris Aitken and Nicky Walker on the right whilst Derek Lilley partnered David McKenna up front. On the bench was Myles Hogarth, Nathan Taggart, John Paul McBride, Ross Harris and Marek Tomana. This game gave the Albion fans little to get excited about, but it was a fantastic point considering the Accies are top of the league, it's just a pity that the rest of the results never went the Binos way. Next up is a welcome break from the league campaign with a trip to Parkhead in the Scottish Cup. Stirling 1v2 Morton
03/01/08
The Binos are simply running out of games this season to gain back what seems like an untouchable eight point lead that the ninth placed team have over us. The Binos went into this game with no new signings in place (the signing of Erik was delayed until today) and boosting the same team that played against Dunfermline except for Marek Tomana who made his first league start since the opening day of the season in the unfamiliar left wing position in the place of Craig Reid who returned to Celtic after his loan spell. John Paul McBride returned to the bench after returning from injury to make up the rest of the squad. Stirling put in one of their worst performances of the season as Morton (who were only slightly better) went away with the three vital points, with Chris Aitken getting the Binos consolation half way through the second half. Next up is a visit to New Douglas Park were the Binos will take on top of the league Hamilton Accies. Match report now online, click on the link below.
