The quiz will now be on the Wednesday night only (30th) there are still a few places for teams left and I will accept entries right up to the Tuesday night if you want to e-mail me albinos@tiscali.co.uk or phone on 01786 472256. To add to the AGM on the 31st. March at 7-30pm (Albion bar, Barnton Street, Stirling)The thread opened up Dick King our former Chairman brought a good response and a good number of really good questions and comments. Thus if anybody who is not a member is welcome to attend and ask a question or put forward any ideas that they see as important. We try and answer them if we can. Although they will not be able to vote although if they join on the night they can. As the Albion Bars function room is small, members will be given priority to enter the room if quite a few non members turn up. There is also a number of places available on the board this year as a few of us are having to step down due to other commitments.

Supporters Club news
20/03/05

Stirling Albion supporters club are now selling the player of the year dance tickets. These are only on sale to the club members at the moment, however, from the 9th April the remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public. Price is set at £13 per person and the venue will still be McQues in Bannockburn. Tickets are available form Stef Torrence or Jimmy Watson and it is advisable to get them asap as they tend to sell out really fast. On another note, the tickets for the bus for the last game of the season are now on sale. The price for this has been set at £5 for both members and non-members and it is hoped there will be enough interest to run two buses. It is advisable to buy your ticket asap in case they end up only running one bus and people miss out. The leaving times to Arbroath that day will be 9.50am at the Borestone (St Ninians), 9.55am at the Islamic Centre and 10am at the Halfway House.

Morton 2v0 Stirling
19/03/05

Stirling's abysmal record at Cappielow continued when promotion chasing Morton beat the Bino's 2-0 and end any slight hope's Stirling had of two successive promotion's. In what was a pretty evenly matched game, Morton took there chances and kept the pressure on struggling Stranraer. It was pretty much the same Bino's line-up as the one that drew at Berwick with Paul Di Giacomo coming in for Martin Glancy. There is now a full match report below from our regular reporter Ian Jones, just click on the link below to view.

Berwick 2v2 Stirling
12/03/05

Apologies to our regular readers for the lateness of this news. Stirling went into this game with Paul Di Giacomo and Chris Aitken suspended and in came Kevin MacDonald and Martin Glancy. Stirling had a pretty slack start with Stewart Devine missing a header and the Berwick player went through to score after only a couple of minutes. The first half was pretty even and Stirling won a penalty that Dunn converted. In the second half, the third division bound Berwick was the better team, but with very little shots on goal. Stirling took the lead with only a couple of minutes to go when Dunn hit the cross bar from outside the box and sub Dougie Wilson done superbly to hit it on the half volley from outside the box and score his first goal of the season. Stirling looked like they would be heading up the motorway with all 3 points, but the referee gave a very dodgy penalty in which it was alleged to have a Bino players arm. If this wasn't bad enough, the penalty hit off the crossbar and bounce a yard from the line, but the ref gave a goal. In hindsight, the result was pretty fair, but Stirling where still robbed of 2 precious points. A match report will appear on here later tonight.

Alloa 1v1 Stirling
08/03/05

This rearranged New Years day match eventually went ahead tonight at the third time of asking. The referee did his very best to spoil this game with his very picky decisions and the controversial sending off of on loan striker Paul Di Giacomo. Stirling then went on to ground out a well earned draw from there local rivals and that means we're still 7 points ahead of them in the league. Match report is available from the link below.

Stirling 3v2 Forfar
05/03/05

The fact this game produced 5 goals hid the fact that this was a real lackluster performance from the Bino's who managed to hold onto a 1 goal goal lead against 10 men Forfar. There was a more familiar look to the team when they came out with Stirling playing a 4-4-2 formation. Stewart Devine was back at left back and McNally kept his central position, O'Brien returned to the left wing, with Chris Aitken retaining his midfield slot after his wonder goal last week. The only real puzzling position this week was the fact that MacDonald was on the right despite there being 2 players who have played better on the right on the bench (Wilson and Glancy). Chris Aitken scored another peach of a goal, with Devine and Di Giacomo also finding the net. Match report is available below.
