the team in 3rd in a semi final. The team in 4th will play
the team in 9th in Division One, both legs home and away,

Latest
News |
25/05/05 |
Robert
Dunn seems likely that he will sign a new contract with the
Binos despite interest from Raith Rovers, whilst Paul Hay
also looks set to sign in the coming week. Stirling have set
up there first pre-season friendly against Hearts at home
and this looks likely to go ahead on the 16th July, although
this date is still to be confirmed. Stirling will also take
part in a 4 team competition in East Kilbride along with Morton
and possibly 2 other junior teams. The draw for the Bells
Challenge cup will take place on Friday afternoon and hopefully
the Binos can get a decent draw.

Scott
McLean Interview |
16/05/05 |
After
the departure of Scott McLean to Stranraer, www.stirlingalbion.com
has a short interview with the prolific goal scorer on his
move to Stranraer. Trigger played a key part in the third
division success a couple of seasons ago and still finished
top scorer for the Binos last season despite missing the second
half of the season through a knee injury. Many thanks to Scott
and Gary from www.stranraerfc.org
for helping conduct the interview. We wish Scott all the very
best in his time with Stranraer. Click the link below to view
the short interview.

Trigger
signs for Stranraer |
14/05/05 |
Prolific
goal scorer, Scott McLean signed for Stranraer today after
being offered a contract a couple of weeks ago. Neil Watt
had attempted to sign him in the transfer window in January,
however, he was unable to get him and the finally got his
man after offering him a better contract than the Binos did.
McLean scored 35 goals in 57+1 appearances for the Binos which
helped the Binos to promotion last season and helped us maintain
our second division status this year, despite him being out
injured since last year. All at the website team would like
to wish Scott all the very best in his new challenge with
Stranraer. On other news it looks the Binos have signed 20
year old midfielder, Steven Bell from Queen of the South and
are also linked with Brian McPhee (Hamilton) and Ian Cashmore
(Kilwinning Rangers). Read all the reaction on the websites
forum (link available below)

Chairman
Steps down |
13/05/05 |
In
a night that Paul Hay swept most of the Player of the year
awards, Chairman, Peter McKenzie (pictured left) made an emotional
announcement in his annual speech that he will be stepping
down as chairman of Stirling Albion football club and is actively
looking for someone to take over the club. A pin could have
been dropped with the news as Mr McKenzie highlighted he would
not let the club go into administration and would do his best
for the club despite the club being in a substantial amount
of debt. The fans at the POY dance gave Mr McKenzie a standing
ovation for his loyal service to the club over the years.
He did suggest he had approach several people who have turned
down the offer to take over the club and that he is hoping
someone will come in for the club in the pre-season. www.stirlingalbion.com
would like to thank Mr McKenzie for his loyal and financial
support to the club over the last 20 plus seasons and hope
that we'll keep on seeing him at Forthbank next season in
a more relaxed role. In other news, Allan Moore has signed
a contract extension to stay for another two seasons, Kevin
MacDonald looks like he's been released by the club and Paul
Nugent, Stewart Devine and Chris Aitken have all signed new
contracts to keep them with the Binos next season.

Players
Released |
10/05/05 |
As
far as stirlingalbion.com has heard tonight, only 4 players
have been released by the club today with all the rest being
offered some sort of deal. George Rowe, Craig Ferguson, William
Ferguson and Barry Neville have all been told they have no
future left at Stirling. The biggest shock must be George
Rowe (pictured left)who signed at the start of season 2002/03
and has played 97 appearances for the Binos, scoring 10 goals
from defence since injuring himself in November. Other big
name to leave is Craig Ferguson who was in his second season
with the Binos having made about 50 appearances and scored
2 goals. Mark Canning has also been added to the list of players
who have been released (12/5/05).

Arbroath
3v2 Stirling |
07/05/05 |
A
carnival atmosphere was brought to Gayfield for the first
time in years as a large traveling army descended there dressed
in there beach wear, lilo's and beach ball's in hands, having
consumed a large amount of drink pre-match. The fans where
fantastic and sang there hearts out for 90 minutes and most
made the effort to dress up and join in. Look out for the
pictures in the national papers today and tomorrow, especially
the Sunday Mail which has some good photos and a good write
up. The fans stayed behind at the end to thank the players
and management team for there hard work over the season. On
the match front, in came David Forbes, Craig Ferguson and
Steven Hutchison to the team in a game that was pretty even.
Scorers on the day where Douglas Wilson and Paul Di Giacomo
in a game that was pretty much meaningless for both teams. There
will be quite a few photos of the fans on the forum later
on tonight if anyone wants to see them. Match report available
from the link below.
