2v1 Elgin |

continued their impressive run of wins, but in the end they
had to rely on a Myles Hogarth penalty save in the last minute
to stop it from ending. The Binos where cruising in the first
half thanks to goals from Ross Forsyth and Paddy Connolly and
looked like they could get more. However, again in the second
half the Binos seemed to take the foot of the pedal and let
Elgin back into the game after a well worked goal. Elgin where
awarded a penalty in injury time, but Hogarth pulled off a fantastic
save to let the Binos go into the second round and meet Inverurie
Locos at home in a fortnight's time. Many thanks to Kevin Croall
for stepping in to do a match report and also James Stewart
for helping him- Ian, I hope your having a great holiday. Match
report below. |

Plea to Fan's |

Albion chairman, Peter McKenzie (pictured left) made a plea
to the Bino fans to get down to Forthbank for this Saturdays
Scottish cup game against Elgin City. All at stirlingalbion.com
would love to see all our supporters on Saturday to make it
a game to remember. Mr McKenzie said," I would like to
ask all supporters who would like to see professional football
continuing in Stirling to come along and support the club. We
have a loyal support of around 500 who attend games and have
supported the club over the years and I am grateful to them.
Like most other clubs in Scotland at our level, it is becoming
more and more difficult to survive financially. On Saturday
we have Elgin City at Forthbank in the Scottish cup. It would
be great to see the home stand, which holds 1250, full of supporters
in Albion colours. We have been playing well recently and it
would give the players a great lift to have a large support
cheering them on." |

1v3 Stirling |
12/11/05 |
| Stirling
served up yet another stunning performance , this time up at
Peterhead, to keep their impressive run of results going. Stirling
are now a team full of confidence and after four straight wins,
they look like they can finally turn the season around. Stirling
again totally dominated the first half despite the facing a
strong wind and the first half could almost be on par with the
first half performance served up at the Recs the previous week.
Stirling started with almost the same line-up as the week before
with only Stewart Devine returning from injury to replace Paul
Hay at left back. First half goals from Paul Mathers (og), Dougie
Wilson and Stewart Devine let the Binos go into a deserved first
half lead at half time. Peterhead proved a bit stronger in the
second half, but only really had one shot on goal in which they
fluked a consolation. The Binos defended strongly again and
had the better chances in the second half, however they done
enough to send their hundred and fifty or so fans away happy
again for another week. Stirling are now up to the dizzy heights
of eight in the league and next up in the league is a home visit
of Dumbarton who are themselves caught up in the relegation
battle this season. Before that, the Binos have a break from
league business when Elgin City come to town next Saturday in
the first round of the Scottish cup. If the Binos are to draw
this game, then the match is scheduled in Elgin for the following
Saturday and the Dumbarton game will be cancelled. What ever
happens, a home tie with Inverurie
Locos is the reward for the victors of this game. Match
report below. |

finally came off the bottom of the table and the occasion was
made so much sweeter with the fact we where replaced by local
rivals Alloa. Stirling went to Recreation Park having not won
there in the league for something like fifteen years, however,
despite being bottom of the table, the Binos where on a good
run having won their previous two games against high flying
Morton and Raith whilst Alloa where going through a slump in
form. The Binos made two changes to the starting eleven from
last week after Devine failed a late fitness test and Fraser
was also out injured. In came Paul Hay at left back and Chris
Aitken in midfield, whilst Taggart and Scotland came onto the
bench. The Binos fans have stayed loyal in this time and the
three to four hundred who traveled the short distance to Alloa
where served up some fantastic football in the first half when
the Binos could have been seven nil up and not three nil. The
goals in this half came from Paddy Connolly (2) and a thirty
five yard wonder goal from Chris Aitken. Stirling kept up the
momentum in the second half with David O'Brien scoring his first
goal of the season. Alloa had two efforts rightly chopped off
for infringements on Myles Hogarth, but they still managed to
score two goals which led to a nervous last fifteen minutes.
The Binos stayed more organised and rightfully went away with
the three points and knowing that they where off the bottom of the table. Next up is the long trip to Peterhead which is
another place the Binos never really do too well at, but after
ending long winless streaks against Morton and Alloa, the Binos
will be confident of getting something from up there. |
