Stranny in the cup
28/10/07

The Scottish Cup underwent a revamp this season as the Binos enter the third round of the cup, but the draw today did little to wet the appetite of the Binos fans as we were drawn away to Stranraer. Stirling have played Stranraer quite a lot over the last few years and both teams now find themselves two leagues apart, but Stranraer will still be hoping to spring a surprise. Stirling will not have a home game until December now as the Binos face three away games on the trot and a week's break due to the International break. This tie will be played on Saturday 24th November. Here is the full draw for the cup:

Albion Rovers v East Stirlingshire
Forfar Athletic or Dumbarton v Berwick Rangers
Culter v Huntly
Brechin City v East Fife
Stranraer v Stirling Albion
Clyde v Montrose or Pollok
Cove Rangers v Edinburgh University
Partick Thistle v Ayr United
Threave Rovers v Raith Rovers
Greenock Morton v Buckie Thistle

Stirling 3v0 Dunfermline Athletic
27/10/07
Stirling went into this game having failed to win a league game this season and it was well over nine years ago since Davie Lorimer scored at Starks Park to give the Binos their last first division win. Dunfermline have had a faltering season to date after free falling down the league and getting put out of Europe and manager Stephen Kenny is under a lot of pressure to turn things around, but the pressure was set to increase after today. Stirling manager, Alan Moore only made one change from last week and that was Nathan Taggart who came into the starting eleven ahead of William Easton. The Binos went in at half time with a 1-0 lead thanks to Colin Cramb's first goal of the season and it was to get better in the second half. Steven Bell and David McKenna's eighth goal of the season saw Stirling run out 3-0 winners and get that first elusive win of the season. Stirling moved to eighth in the league and go to Cappielow next week in the hope of getting another three points to move further up the league.

Partick Th 1v1 Stirling
20/10/07
Stirling Albion came into this game looking for their first win after failing to win any games in the first quarter of the season. Manager Alan Moore surprised many people when he made several changes to the team in a bid to gain the three points. Scott Christie made his first league start this season in goals, whilst Craig Reid partnered Laurie Ellis in the heart of the defence with Paul Nugent returning to right back and Ross Forsyth at left back. In the midfield saw a first league start for Ross Harris who put in a man of the match performance on the right wing, Bell partnered McBride in the centre of midfield with Easton on the left. Up front, Moore opted for the attacking option of Colin Cramb alongside top scorer David McKenna. Myles Hogarth, Chris Aitken and Andy Graham dropped to the bench alongside Derek Lilley and Marek Tomana. The Binos put in a fantastic first half, but fell behind when Partick scored their only shot on goal. After not being given a few stonewall penalties this season, the ref gave Stirling a very soft penalty, but the Partick keeper did well to save from Colin Cramb. However, Steven Bell scored just before half time from a corner and the Binos went in at half time all square. It was an even match in the second half and the Binos came away with a point in what was their seventh draw of the season. The Binos take on Dunfermline Athletic next Saturday and it's another chance to try and get our first win of the season as Stephen Kenny side are under pressure to deliver after going down 5-0 at home to league leaders Hamilton. Stirling 0v2 Clyde
06/10/07

Stirling Albion put in one of their worst performances of the season against a struggling Clyde side at Forthbank today. The Binos lined up with Hogarth in goals; a back four of Reid, Ellis, Graham and Forsyth; Walker, Bell, Aitken and Easton made up the midfield whilst Lilley and McKenna started up front. On the bench was Christie, Tomana, Hay, McBride and Cramb. Stirling created very little in this game and on this performance it looks like the Binos will be playing second division football again next season! The Binos now find themselves three points below ninth in the league and they have still to record their first win of the season. The Binos next take on Falkirk in the Shire cup final against SPL side Falkirk at East Stirling's ground on Tuesday night. This game is an all ticket match so please contact the club on 01786 450399 if you would like to purchase a ticket. Match report below.
