QOS 2V2 Stirling |
29/09/07 |
The Binos recorded their sixth draw of the season as John Paul McBride popped up to give the Binos a late equaliser. Delays at Castlecarry meant the team bus didn't turn up till 2-20pm, but overall the game was delayed only five minutes whilst fans were still turning up at half time (many just turned back after sitting hours in the traffic). Stirling lined up in an unfamiliar 4-5-1 formation with Hogarth in goals; a back four of Reid (playing at right back), Graham, Ellis and Forsyth; Walker, Bell, Aitken, McBride and Easton in midfield with McKenna up front on his own. On the bench was Christie, Hay, Taggart, Nugent and Lilley. The other scorer on the day was William Easton who also scored his first goal for the Binos. Stirling remain bottom of the table, but the Binos take on 9th placed Clyde next week in what is turning out to be a massive six pointer for both teams. Match report below. |

Stirling 2v2 Dundee |
22/09/07 |
The Binos have still to record their first win this season, but they put in a battling performance against Dundee today and got a deserved share of the points against a Dundee side who riding high at the top of the table. The Binos lined up with Hogarth in goals; Nugent, Graham, Ellis, and Forsyth (who returned from injury) in defence; Walker (this was his first start of the season), Aitken, Bell and Easton in midfield and Cramb and Lilley up front. On the bench was Christie, Hay, McBride, Harris and Lilley. Both Steven Bell and David McKenna (his seventh goal this season) were on target for the Binos. The Binos find themselves bottom of the division, but the league is so tight that only three points separate ourselves and St Johnstone who are fourth. The Binos travel to Dumfries next Saturday to take on Queen of the South and this game is shaping out to be massive for both teams. The Supporters bus will again be running to this game with prices set at £10 for adults and £5 for children. Please click HERE for further details. Match report below. |

Hamilton 4v0 Stirling |
15/09/07 |
| The Binos went into this game after a well deserved break as Scotland were on International duty and the fans were hoping that the break would help rest the only part time team in the division to put up a good challenge against league leaders Hamilton, but a disappointing game was to follow. The Binos lined up with Hogarth, Nugent, Graham, Reid, Ellis, Bell, Murphy, Aitken, Taggart, Lilley and McKenna and on the bench was Christie, Hay, McBride, Easton and Cramb. Hamilton proved just too good for the Binos as they ran out 4-0 winners and stayed top of the league whilst the Binos sunk to joint bottom of the league alongside Clyde. The biggest worry of the game was seeing Myles Hogarth taken off with what looked like a head injury and hopefully the big man is ok. The Binos take on Dundee at home next week and they are another team who are flying high and the Binos will need to seriously improve if they want to think about taking anything from this game. Stirling 3v3 Livingston |
01/09/07 |
Stirling Albion looked like they had pulled off the unlikest of wins after coming back from two nil down to lead three two, but former player Robert Snodgrass spoiled the day with a late equaliser. The Binos lined up for this game with Hogarth in goals; Nugent, Reid (making his debut at centre half), Graham, Ellis at the back; Bell, Aitken, McBride (also making his debut) and Easton in midfield and Lilley and McKenna up front. On the bench was Christie, Hay, Taggart, Harris and Cramb. The Binos put in a poor performance in the first half that seen them one nil down at half time and things got worse when Livingston went two nil up ten minutes into the second half. The comeback was on when a Chris Aitken free kick was put into his own net by Mark Tinkler before top scorer David McKenna netted goals five and six of the season for himself. The Binos conceded a late goal, but on the day it was no more than Livingston deserved. The Binos now have a week break due to Internationals, before taking on top of the league Hamilton Accies away from home. Match report below. |
