Club History

Stirling’s previous Forthbank Stadium, home to King’s Park in the pre-war days, was badly damaged by a German bomb on the night of Friday the 20th of July 1940. King’s Park never recovered from this blow and although they made temporary repairs to the ground and played two more games on it at the start of the following season, they were finished as a senior club.
And then came Stirling Albion. Stirling Albion Football Club were founded in 1945 by a group of local businessmen, headed by Tom Ferguson. The club enjoyed success in its early years and spent as much time in Division One as in Division Two. They were also backed by crowds which regularly reached 12,000 for matches. However, since the late 60's ‘The Binos’, as they are known affectionately by their supporters, have drifted around the lower division of the Scottish league. Stirling Albion are Stirling's only senior football team playing, currently, in the Scottish Second Division. Up until 1993 the club played there home matches at a stadium called Annfield (pictures below). Then they moved to a new out-of-town stadium and incorporated the old name Forthbank Stadium. They have played here up until present day. Read more about Stirling Albion in this history section with the links at the top of the screen.
