Season 2005/06

After securing their second division status, the Albion go into season 2005/06 with a much smaller squad than was existent in the previous campaign. The release of George Rowe (Retired through injury), Mark Canning, Kevin MacDonald (Dumbarton), David McIntosh, Martin Glancy (Bathgate Thistle), Scott McLean (Stranraer) and Craig Ferguson so far, has been replaced by Steven Bell from Queen of the South, Steven Boyack from Blackpool, Andy Graham from Glasgow amateurs, Paddy Connelly (Ayr United), Ross Forsyth and Chirs Hay from St Johnstone and ex-Stranraer duo David Turnbull and John Fraser. Steven is a tall central midfield player who has featured for the Scotland Under 19 squad and who comes to Forthbank with a reputation for scoring his fair share of goals from midfield. He was unfortunate in his time at Queens as injuries had restricted his ability to train regularly and as a result his chance of first team appearances had been hampered. In all Steven played only 55 minutes of first team football with the Doonhammers. Still only twenty years of age, Steven's other clubs include Dundee United. Steven Boyack will add great experience to the Binos midfield after seeing service with Rangers, Dundee, Hearts, Livingston, Boston United and Blackpool. Steven has opted for part time football with his local team after turning down the chance to sign for Brechin. Andy Graham is some what of an unknown to the Binos fans after signing up from the amateur ranks. Described as a big solid centre half, Alan Moore has big hopes for this talented young defender. Last, but not least is Ross Forsyth from St Johnstone. Ross has gained quite a lot of experience after seven years with the Perth Saints and can play in either the left back or left midfield position and will put pressure on Stewart Devine and David O'Brien this season. John Fraser finally arrived at the Bino's after turning us down at the last minute to sign for Stranraer. John will add more depth and experience to the midfield having played with Dunfermline, Ross County, Clyde and Stranraer. David also followed Fraser to the Binos from Stranraer after being released by them at the end of last season. David will be looking to form a deadly duo with Robert Dunn this season. Paddy Connelly was also signed on the eve of the Bells Challenge cup win against Ayr United. Paddy was with Ayr last season and can also add Dundee United, Airdrie and St Johnstone to his cv. Also joining the Binos lately is Chris Hay who was with St Johnstone last season. The striker comes along with an impressive cv having played for Celtic, Swindon Town, Huddersfield Town and St Johnstone. Having suffered a bad injury whilst with St Johnstone it's hoped Chris will be back to match fitness soon and banging in the goals for the Binos.

Allan Moore goes into this campaign having signed a two year extension deal keeping him with the Bino's till the end of season 2006/07. Going into his fourth full season, Moore will find it his hardest yet with a vastly reduced budget from last season and with another three full time teams in the league (Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers and big spending Gretna). Also in the back room staff is Davie Gemmell who also adds a vital part of Allan Moore's staff and is joint assistant manager at the club alongside veteran defender Mark McNally.
