The Binos surprised a few team's last season after pushing champion's Morton all the way to the title and finally finishing well clear in second place well ahead of the more fancied team's in the division. The play off's that proceeded will live long in the memories of the Bino's faithful after disposing of Raith Rovers in the semi's and then beating full time Airdrie in the final in front of the 1200 strong away support. This season the Bino's return to the first division for the first time in a decade and Alan Moore and the team will face their hardest season to date. The Bino's released long serving Douglas Wilson as well as John Fraser and Ian Cashmore, whilst both Robert Snodgrass (Livingston) and David Bingham (Gretna) returned to their respective clubs. Alan Moore has strengthened the squad for the first division campaign ahead by bring in defender Laurie Ellis from Raith Rovers, midfielder John Paul McBride from Stenhousemuir, striking trio Derek Lilley from St Johnstone, Darren Gribben from Forfar and David McKenna from St Mirren.
